John Elway put himself on the map as an NFL all-star and is one of the most widely regarded quarterbacks of his generation, with five Super Bowl appearances and six AFC Championship Games. His career with the Denver Broncos skyrocketed with “The Drive”—a last ditch, five-minute, 15-play, 98-yard touchdown drive in the 1987 AFC Championship game against the Cleveland Browns. This legendary play allowed his team to take home the title in overtime and pushed Elway’s reputation into overdrive. Among Elway’s innumerable career achievements are 51,475 passing yards, 300 passing touchdowns, 4,123 passing completions, two Super Bowl wins and an induction into the NFL Pro Hall of Fame in 2004.
